Selmer 1932 ‘Super – Cigar Cutter’ Eb Alto, #17,4xx (Archived)
This saxophone is an off-site consignment, being sold/shipped from the United Kingdom (UK). A rare opportunity for the professional saxophonist, collector, enthusiast to acquire a great piece of Selmer Super Saxophone history. This is truly a unique, beautiful looking and sounding vintage saxophone. The elegant, unique finish is a brass-look and, for the age of the instrument, it is in incredible condition. It has been brought back to it's best playing order by my technician and I have thoroughly enjoyed gigging and recording with this classic horn. It's tone is unique to this vintage era of Selmer production. It is full, big and vibrant and even puts my legendary Mark VI in the shadow. A true performer and a regrettable sale.
Buescher 1935 ‘The Aristocrat, Series 1’ Eb Baritone, #276k (Archived)
SOLD - Serial number 276,xxx. 80+% Original Lacquer, original snap in pads (CURRENTLY PLAYS GOOD!), but the old old pads will likely need replaced for you to enjoy and also to help remove the smell during a bathing. All of this can be done during a rebuild.
SML 1968 ‘A. Cojan’ Eb Alto, Stencil, Silver #21,xxx (Archived)
SOLD - #21k, silver plate, Finish: Original Silver body & keys, with elements of the Rev D (1950s? key guards) and King Marigaux tone holes and high F#. It also has the SML gold springs. This sax will prove to be one that perks my interest in research and tone. It's a very heavy build, with good weight perhaps from the plating.
It will need a fully rebuild to enjoy. Judging by the sheer power/boldness in this model, I might recommend we discuss how to keep the resonators a 'medium' size -- pad upgrades encouraged.
