If you wish to schedule a rebuild, or purchase one of our saxes (and it still needs to be rebuilt), send us a 50% deposit to hold your place in my work schedule. I work from a published schedule (see left margin) so that your sax will only be out of your possession a couple weeks, while i do the actual work, it does not have to just sit on the shop floor, until it's turn comes up... you send it to arrive on schedule and we return it on schedule.

If a horns says "just rebuilt", then it's ready to go, saxes that say "scheduled for a rebuild" are waiting for the work to be done, but it will be included in the posted price. If a sax says "ON TRIAL" someone is taking advantage of our "Three Day Trial" policy (See Info and Orders page).

Here is a pic of some custom resonator work. We can size the reso to your tonehole, or whatever you like.

Keilwerth made The New King and Tone King as their main brand names, from 1932 to 1969 or so, but there were always stencils, like Edgeware and later Couf. The new king and tone king saxes were identical except for a high F# key on the tone king model, but keilwerth marketed the Tone King as the "deluxe" Pro model and the New King as the "standard" Pro model

Welcome to the Phantoms Home Page!

Who the heck are the Phantoms? We're a "family" of N.W. music business veterans, who play for fun and to get the music out there, where people can enjoy it. We have been together since the summer of 1999, with the same guys on stage as when we started, except for Bob Nelson, who still comes and jams occasionally. If you have been out dancing around N. Seattle, we were the house band at G.T's Pub for three years (formerly know as the Gateway), then we took residence at the Blue Yonder for a few more. We recorded a c.d. of blues rock classics and originals in 2003 and a second c.d. in 2005 We still play at G.T's now and then and all around town, we've also played at the Mukilteo Summer Street festival, Shoreline Summer festival, and much, much more.

The Phantoms have a combined 60+years of experience playing here in the N.W. and members have been featured in Pro touring bands such as Tight Shoes, The New Flamingo's, Dillinger, The Bad Bees, Get Back, Canon and Rudy and the Tubeshakers. Song selection and audience motivation are priorities with us... we like to get it goin' and keep it up!

Steve "Sarge" Stransky: Sarge has been playing the N.W. Pro circuit, since 1971, when he finally gave up his former life as a professional Hippy! He’s worked in almost every style of music and everywhere from California to Alaska. He Sings Lead, plays Sax, Keyboards, Harmonica and Guitar.

Steve Erickson: Steve’s the Lead guitar player and sings too. He and Sarge hooked up in about 1980, when Steve’s band Dillinger needed a new singer in order to go back out on the road, they got a call and an audition from Sarge and as they say, the rest is history.

Robert Bobrowski: Rob is another long time N.W. player, who was originally from the Windy City. He play Bass and sings and tries to keep Steve From Goin' Double Time! Rob’s favorite thing to say, is “Anytime, I just want to play”.

Charles Bronson: When Chas isn’t out hunting down bad guys, or doing some Gung Fu, he holds down a Big beat on Drums. We like to kid him a lot, but he’s probably the easiest goin’ guy in the band.
