If you wish to schedule a rebuild, or purchase one of the saxes (and it still needs to be rebuilt),  send me a 50% deposit to hold your place in the work schedule.  I work from a published schedule (see left margin) so that your sax will only be out of your possession a couple weeks, while i do the actual work, it does not have to just sit on the shop floor, until its turn comes up... you send it to arrive on schedule and we return it on schedule.

  If  a horns says "just rebuilt", then it's ready to go, saxes that say "scheduled for a rebuild" are waiting for the work to be done, but it will be included in the posted price.  If a sax says "ON TRIAL" someone is taking advantage of the "Three Day Trial" policy (See Info and Orders page).

Keilwerth made The New King and Tone King  as their main brand names, from 1932 to 1969 or so, but there were always stencils, like Edgeware and later Couf.  Here are few of the other names you may find on Keilwerth made horns.  The New King and Tone King saxes were identical except for a high F# key on the tone king model, but keilwerth marketed the Tone King as the "deluxe" Pro model and the New King as the "standard" Pro model

     This specific sax arrived as a like-new example. It looks like it was used for 1-2 yrs by a very loving player. Original case in great shape.

Selmer:

One of Selmer's well-known student lines but in the matte  Nickel keys (good for kids), this one has mostly used pads in medium/old condition, i will replace some necessary ones and regulate it all as needed.  Has some scratches and minor dents, major one on the bottom got my attention.  Cosmetics show some wear and evidence of having been played. Comes with mouthpiece and case. #1,123,xxx,

ser# 9,024,xxx. Intermediate Selmer from the recent years. Rare Silver plate in 97% condition. Model SAS-280RS. It arrived we'll played, yet still playing very strong. I was very impressed with the action and feel and I would say that this could keep up with some pro saxes! 1) it's a "selmer", with all the ergos and tone you're after. I would label the tone as "bold, focused, slightly brighter than Vintage tone, yet, very responsive and firm".  The bell is "traditional-sized bell" for the clean, focused sound. (I found the bell curve to be very interesting--flares to the right).  Comes with the original Selmer hard case/backpack-type with the "la voix" on it. 

---We just finished a full disassembly, silver dip cleaning, chemical cleaning, and replaced the main palm key pads and Eb for longevity and easy maintenance!  All shined up and helped her sing the doors down!

This sax is a super cool sax! I actually really like the tone. It must be reminiscent of my ol' Series II selmer.

Serial #047xxx dates it to about 2002. These are very well respected saxes. I figure, these might be some of the best "value horns" for Pro models under $2k. It seems odd to say that, but there ya go. This one was a trade in sax in good shape. Medium wear, 2-3 resolder repairs, and a few dings. Currently it has the original case with some TLC needed on one section--I'd like to save it because it's solid aside from that area. 

Waiting for PC Work, I will likely end up replacing 2-5 pads, but the rest are in very good condition! 

I'll get her tuned up and ready to rock asap!

BUT it plays super easy, altissimo screamed too. It has an ugly tooth groove patch that we could cover up with a tooth pad. Do not use this in a symphony! Haha, it is a solo sax sound.
