WorldwideSax.com is a Vintage Saxophone repair shop that also buys, completely rebuilds and resells Vintage Professional Saxophones. I also do Rebuilds and Restorations for customers from all over the world.

WWS is a by appointment only specialist, not a "music store". Customers can see and hear what is available on this website.

NOTICE: You are viewing the old WWS website.

(Inventory is out of date. In your http address, you'll see "old" for these

WWS archives. We wanted to keep this live for saxophone research.)

If  a horns says "just rebuilt", then it's ready to go, saxes that say "scheduled for a rebuild" are waiting for the work to be done, but it will be included in the posted price.  If a sax says "ON TRIAL" someone is taking advantage of the "Three Day Trial" policy (See Info and Orders page).

Looks like a 1980s+ era Duckbill & Bullet chamber made of ebonite. curved machine marks on the table go left to right. original tip @ 0.108". It has a minor tooth groove. . comes with nickel-flat-screw Berg ligature, and mismatched nickel France cap. Why buy new models at 165.00? Oh, and you can't even order this tip from the base catalog! Pending: Play testing. I want to reface just the tip for a super clear seal and nicer curve than factory settings. just let me know--ended up at 0.112".

You can barely see the curved machine marks on the table that go left to right. Just back from Bob Carpenter who repaired it back to a much improved playability...tip @ 0.085". It has a stick-on guard (blue) to prevent ligature wear. no ligature, sorry. Nice Berg sound--Deep, Loud w/o shrillness. Why buy new models at 170?

WOW!, no major tooth marks, it has the chamber with smaller side-walls (unique for this model). legit for traditional jazz or big band sound.

It plays great with easy response and a VERY SMOOTH JAZZ TONE!

I left the baffle, that will boost the 'edge'/treble/ability to cut through.

We sent this to Bob Carpenter for reclamation as it needed Bob to be saved.  It was beat up as is typical for Dukoff silverite material. Tips and rails look great now, whole mouthpiece lightly polished, and Bob Carpenter refaced it to be a now D6 size tip measurement of 0.076", baffle is that large step/slope baffle. bite plate looks good too (usually worn through. It plays really nice with a Fat Dukoff sound, not as shrill as D7, new tooth guard installed. comes with rovner ligature and plastic cap.   (considering that D7 and D8 are going for 450-650, this shouldn't last too long.) ***I just saw an ugly one go on ebay for more than this!

A few big players on this model: (TENOR) Ben Webster, Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, and (ALTO) Benny Carter. Point on history with these is the top ridge was first added here to help center the ligatures and the reed plates were thinner (a good thing for sound). It is possible that this ligature is from the era right after (this one missing the words on the screw). This one arrived with the original tip at 3* (0.059") so I refaced it and made it very free blowing and open more, or about a Link 6 @ 0.074" now. Terrific material and good classic design.  Larger chamber makes for a big vintage sound.  reminds me of a slant signature sound but a but more 'vintage-nasal' with the 0.062". Comes with a vintage, brass ligature too.

WoodwindCoAltoB5.jpg (1651742 bytes) "Woodwind" hard rubber alto (B5):  Terrific material and good classic design.  Larger chamber makes for a big vintage sound.  reminds me of a slant signature sound. Bob Carpenter just opened this one up (usually a 85.00 job) to a easy blowing .077", just found a ligature to go with it too.

Terrific material and good classic design.  Larger chamber makes for a big vintage sound.  reminds me of a slant signature sound. Bob Carpenter just opened this one up to a easy blowing 0.075"; also had Bob put the metal band on the shank to repair a crack and save this great mpc.

249.00 Need a hook? This one is my Bench Mpc. ;) That should tell you something.

I don't know if I can sell this one anymore!

I get a lot of questions about my old friend Bob Carpenter...

Bob got a lot of mouthpiece refacers started, such as Theo Wanne, who in turn, got others started later...

but no one does nicer work than Bob.  Check out "Bob's Page" to know more: READ ON...

A professionally custom refaced mouthpiece will almost

always play better than a factory facing.

Runyon Teeth & Mouthpiece Savers?

RunyonTeethAndMouthpieceSavers_001.jpg (465114 bytes)Yes, available with mouthpiece/sax purchase. Packs of two are available for $4.00. Wow, prices went up! But these are Runyon mouthpiece savers. Both the same or mix and match.

BLACK: thick cushion. more like foam. sharp teeth may cut through.

CLEAR: thin with simple cushion. stronger than Black.

Sarge liked both separately AND even put a clear over the black for longevity and cushion!
