*Bias report: I have this same #7, early era mouthpiece stashed in Chadd's Collection.

This is less known Rousseau metal mouthpiece. The more famous ones are rubber and began out of Eugene Rousseau's fame as a classical player.

Original facing, ligature, cap, case and paperwork!

Version A: (WWS Researcher here) The early version came with the metal ligature and cap. The new ones, or perhaps [old stock], are being sold with Rovner wraps and a plastic cap. I do not know any potential change to the mouthpiece build; I have not compared those components. However, at the 4-2023 time of this posting, you can find the discontinued Version-B (Rovner+plastic cap) mouthpiece being sold "new" at $295-350(MSRP at $517). Oh, and the #7 tip option is almost always sold out! The mouthpiece is gold-plated brass, with marketing sightings on the Version-B as "24-karat" plating. I have not verified this more than a internet search.

Side note: The ligature and cap have a different process for plating; either the top gold layer or the base layer. In time, like mine has, I expect the plating to wear. However, the mouthpiece plating is better/thicker, or something.

Jump at this one while you can!

It plays crisp, clean, focused and with a nice projection. The chamber is a V-shape, that must be considered "small". I originally kept mine (since ~2010) because it played just as easy and great as my Selmer S80 C* rubber, yet with more volume and projection - one test and I was ready to buy it from Sarge.
