It is in very good condition overall with no major damage; yet some bumps along the 100yrs are notable. There are a few keys that show lacquer burns (from torch work in pad changes), and 1x resolder to the palm key bumper post. The

This sax was owned by a player/collector who has decided to thin the heard.

With serial #166k, it would not line up to Martin era guarantees as that would be 1948. Due to the Martin design option-match being a Handcraft, this will pull it possibly back to the late 20s for most of that model's manufacturing. Handcrafts are very well loved sopranos for fantastic tone, warmth, rich overtones and rather enjoyable intonation even! This could be a real Sleeper Sax ready to sing to the crowd!

Martin sopranos are some of vintage sax world's favorite, as well as Sarge's and mine as well. They were known for the rich & powerful timbre, good strong metal, and favorable intonation over Buescher!

TONEHOLES: classic Martin Beveled chimneys, soldered onto the body (**NO** evidence of any being damaged or resoldered)

CASE: *TBD*... Currently paired with a soft bag.

PADS: Mixed - 3 versions appear to be present.
