Nikolas from Greece bought a perfect era serial #65k Selmer Mark V tenor. She was perhaps the [ugliest] Mark VI that we ever get to see. However the story with it is a saving grace: The grandfather who played it, among other saxes, played along side Dizzy Gillispie! We ended up naming this sax "Susan" -- amazingly beautiful music, and not so cosmetically pleasing. It truly came alive as the amazing sounding sax that its pedigree held.
