SOLD - Cosmetically 9.0 - The newest Yamaha student line that will support a growing player--youth to adult. Original yamaha case in good working order.
Other: Arta Guban 1970s/80s ‘Luxor Solo’ Bb Tenor, #674k (Archived)
SOLD - From Chadd's Collection: I am really fascinated by this sax. There are so many ornate features! It has some of the most elaborate tube rings with 3D weave on the bell lip too! The sheet metal octave key on the neck is where she gets her nickname: "The Ram", the pearl bonuses are great--even on the neck screw!, I love the light engraving on the key guards and the G# too, the lucite pants guard like JK or older Kolhert, and the raise bell logo.
FINISH: 99% original satin/shiny Silver Plate with goldwash bell....well, I think the Bell is actually a lacquer judging by the flaking part. I still need to electro test that. It could have been gold but not sticking to the brass (at the lip where it pealed off). I also did spot silver plate 4 small areas that shows some wear. You won't find where.
Tenor, Neck: Peter Ponzol, Gold Plate (Archived)
SOLD - A gold neck for Selmer Mark VI's (replacement or supplemental). It offers a clear tone and easy response. This neck has an outside diameter of 27.55mm (27.50-.59).
Recently released from Sarge's Collection. Sarge had it as an extra neck with one of his Selmers in the past. It does show some plating wear on the tenon edge. I would also recommend this get sized to your sax by a local tech when your sax body is present. It should also get a new pad and neck cork too.
Otto Link ‘Four **** Model’ Alto, (RAC reface) – 0.073″ (Archived)
SOLD - *From Chadd's Collection* - Warm, Vintage Tone all the way - from the vintage era of the late 1930s, a metal mouthpiece that is not loud and bright. These have a huge chamber, low baffle and a very reserved, warm tone. Serial number: DD 68. These were originally made with facings of #2 through 5*, and custom options. This was a Number #3, or Medium. Now at 0.073" it's pretty close to a modern Otto Link 5**.
Selmer 1962 ‘Mark VI’ Bb Tenor, w/ F#, #103k(Archived)
SOLD -SOUND FILE - Professionally owned buy two pros - aka: handpicked by picky sax players. Lacquer at 65%; it also has high F#. No major damage to report - Opt.F# guard resolders, and perhaps an old resolder to the high E3 upper post. Other sax history: It was rebuilt in 2003 and had regular adjustments, then the sax did a small amount of playing from 2008-2015, some palm key pads changed in 2016, and then some recent repair work ($$$) Jan. 2018 for cleaning and necessities.
Selmer 1973 ‘Mark VI’ Bb Tenor, #218k (Archived)
SOLD - A beautiful ONE-OWNER HORN. She's pretty. Need I say more? Ser #218k, ORIGINAL FINISH at 95%, with mostly original pads. Kept in the closest for the past 30 years. The original case is even plush inside.
Conn 1936 ‘Chu-Transitional-12M’ Eb Baritone, #271k (Archived)
SOLD - For the Gerry Mulligan lovers! ... Ser#271k, Original finish at 90%--color is great! LADY FACE/Naked Lady pentagram engraved on the bell. It needs a rebuild. She arrived with lots of dents and dings. I'll work those out. The neck ring was replaced with a 1940s king zephyr three-ring neckstrap ring (this is actually a good thing for you players). The only other 'bad' worth mentioning, is the Opt F# guard has been lost. I have found a 12M replacement part!! (in bare brass). There are some dents on the back side that I want to improve and the body tube will straighten during the rebuild; I have no worry there. Case: currently has the Conn-wrapped original. Let's talk about upgrading this...$300?
Let's get it rebuilt with a WWS Rebuild ($1200+) and let's talk about the special rebuild details you want on this one. larger brass resos?!? This sax will be a great player with a huge tone!; don't forget the insane market-desire on this model for the Collector in you.
Dukoff ‘D6 – Silverite’ C-Melody, Transitional, (WWS Reface) – 0.071″ (Archived)
SOLD - A uniquely, ultra rare Dukoff mouthpiece from Chadd's Collection that matches all the design measurements for a C-Melody mouthpiece. It was really tricky on arrival and it sent me into heavy research.
The photo comparisons sum it up though. It contained elements from two eras of Dukoff: the Nickel Plated Brass(NPB), and the "Miami, FL" Silverite models:
-made of Silverite
-Vertical "D6" label (like Silverite)
-short shank (like Silverite Alto)
-small bite pad (like NPB model)
-"Dukoff" script (like NPB model)
-Nickel plating over the silverite = True Transitional! wow!
***Reed Window is a match for the length of vintage rubber C-Melody mouthpieces.
