Buffet 1972 ‘Super Dynaction (SDA)’ Bb Tenor, #18,73x MINT (Archived)

SOLD - Sound File - The nicest SDA for sale in the world. Mint Condition, Museum worthy! EXCELLENT Original Lacquer is about 98%(due to wear from the stock lacquer). Factually speaking, stories from the owners account for this horn getting a very very short stint playing and then kept in the closet ever since. By my account, the mild lacquer wear on touch points has led me to start connecting stories and other SDA data about the [strength/durability of the Buffet lacquer]. I am starting to piece together historically that these saxes began to gain cracks in the lacquer (beneath, perhaps, as the norm) over time -- from use and, now I see with this sax, simply over time.
COSMETICS: Excellent. very little makings anywhere.
PADS: Original Factory Setup!
CASE: Original Buffet case in excellent condition to match. Even the blue fuzz is pretty!
What a time capsule piece! - includes original Buffet C2 mouthpiece, ligature, and cap also!

Selmer 2004 ‘Super Action 80 – Series III’ Eb Alto, #648k (Archived)

SOLD - A gorgeous Selmer "Super Action 80 - Series III". By it's beauty you can see that it was well-loved and cared for. It is the no-engraving model. This was adult-owned (!) by a local player/band teacher. Thus, Why is he selling it? - his ears are being drawn to another maker. I played on a SA80ii for 10 years and can tell you that this horn can do everything you need it to. Only negative to mention: some dent repair in the neck wall. I made the photo of this purposely look bad in the light so that you could see it (it hides at different angles). There are very very minor scratches too.

Selmer 1969 ‘Mark VI’ Bb Tenor, #167k (Archived)

GONE - Another pretty Mark VI. Unique rear engraving & Ser #167k, ORIGINAL FINISH at 92%, with 50% original pads. It is a "Euro" model with such engraving, however no high F#. Kept mostly in the closest by the current owner (his backup sax... yea, you heard that right!). It a gorgeous example that I know you'd be proud to call your own. Blue ink "S" in good condition, and serial number etched inside the neck which is typical for many Euro models (not outside). For such a pretty horn, there was area to mention: the rear body tube shows the scratches and wear in the middle, the metal thumbhook had been pushed into the body slightly, and there is wear below that near the serial number. Otherwise, the sax is very very clean.
CASE: The original case is in excellent condition also, inside and out. The latches are firm and strong.
PADS: Currently being listed and sold 'as is'. The upper stack pads (G and up, & palm keys) look like they have been changed in the last 15 years. The lower pads pads all look like factory originals. All pads have plastic resonators.

Other: Arta Guban 1970s/80s ‘Luxor Solo’ Bb Tenor, #674k (Archived)

SOLD - From Chadd's Collection: I am really fascinated by this sax. There are so many ornate features! It has some of the most elaborate tube rings with 3D weave on the bell lip too! The sheet metal octave key on the neck is where she gets her nickname: "The Ram", the pearl bonuses are great--even on the neck screw!, I love the light engraving on the key guards and the G# too, the lucite pants guard like JK or older Kolhert, and the raise bell logo.
FINISH: 99% original satin/shiny Silver Plate with goldwash bell....well, I think the Bell is actually a lacquer judging by the flaking part. I still need to electro test that. It could have been gold but not sticking to the brass (at the lip where it pealed off). I also did spot silver plate 4 small areas that shows some wear. You won't find where.

Tenor, Neck: Peter Ponzol, Gold Plate (Archived)

SOLD - A gold neck for Selmer Mark VI's (replacement or supplemental). It offers a clear tone and easy response. This neck has an outside diameter of 27.55mm (27.50-.59).
Recently released from Sarge's Collection. Sarge had it as an extra neck with one of his Selmers in the past. It does show some plating wear on the tenon edge. I would also recommend this get sized to your sax by a local tech when your sax body is present. It should also get a new pad and neck cork too.
