Sultry Buescher sound that lots of people love on the affordable Aristo III! This is the little brother to the more famous Big B (Aristo II). These are light weight with a sound that is bigger than that illusion. A nice tenor under $2, 000 - It won't last.
Serial #342,2xx dates the sax to about 1951-52. This sax is Original Finish. A few mentionables: need to mention the neck has some dings and pull-down in it's past. This doesn't concern me too much because it has been realigned. The 3x palm keys lost their snap resos--all too common. Those 3 pads have plastic resos. The Pads were installed elsewhere and have quite a bit of life left. It looks like all pads were glued in, which makes me think they were not metal-backed ones.
CASE: The original case is in functional shape. If you would like a Protec upgrade, I can help with a discount, but the only fit is the Protec XL.
SOUND: warmth, sultry, very very close to the Big B(series II), just add a bit more treble tones in the clearness of tone.
Although the pads are a little used, they will tune up nicely (included). So I'll go through the sax and give a great bill of health before it leaves.
One of the best bargain saxes!
