These are fantastic, classic-Conn tone saxes! The Gold it a "+", the portrait engraving is a double "++". It is a well-loved, well-played tenor that could tell stories.

TONE: These NW1 (vs the NW2) have a warmer tone and still have the wide Conn vintage, "smoky", classic tone.

PADS: older pads that show mixed ages wear. Some need immediate repairs and I would suspect that $400 could be the recommended budget investment to get this sax up a running well. But getting everything done in a rebuild is certainly on the table if your budget can allow.

CASE: vintage hard case , non-original. Ask me about potential upgrades.
