1947 "The Martin Tenor"

Price: SOLD/GONE
  • Year:  1947
  • Make:  Martin
  • Model: "The Martin Tenor"/Committee 3
  • Status: SOLD/GONE
  • Finish: Original
  • Serial Number: 164,100

(OFF-SITE Consignment - Plays rather rough on original pads-rebuild recommended)

COLLECTORS! A extremely rare version of a factory original, "no Optional F#" model, in nice original lacquer and mostly original pads. Case was protected and is in excellent condition also! There are some small dings and pings showing that it was played and loved. The current owner says this one has the better altissimo compared to his other saxes; his other main horn is another "The Martin". (He's selling due to collector value, pad life needs, having other saxes, etc).

COSMETIC RATING: 9.6

It has matching serial number on the neck and minor pings on the back bow.

PADS: 90% original - a few replaced long ago.

CASE: Original! and well-protected by a case wrap which has now run its course: falling apart, non-working zippers.
