Intermediate Selmer from the recent years. Black nickel plating intact at 85%. Model SAS-280RB. It arrived we'll played & loved by an aspiring player. I am impressed with the action and feel and I would say that this could keep up with some pro saxes! 1) it's a "selmer", with all the ergos and tone you're after. I would label the tone as "bold, focused, slightly brighter than Vintage tone, yet, very responsive and firm". The bell is "traditional-sized bell" for the clean, focused sound. (I found the bell curve to be very interesting--flares to the right).
PADS: currently originals with medium usage. 3-4 have been replaced. We can discuss your desire to have any recommended ones upgraded at time of sale.
CASE: Comes with a Gator, lightweight molded case.
MOUTHPIECE: Also comes with the original mouthpiece. It looks like Selmer's take on a Meyer design with a medium chamber for a warm, jazz tone.
Cosmetic Rating: 8.0
This sax is a super cool sax; I actually really like the tone and I've done gigs on this model. It must be reminiscent of my ol' Series II selmer.
