SOLD - Large chamber makes for a big vintage sound. Now it has a 0.098" tip and I left some baffle material to help give it punch and treble/presence. Original facing "J5" marking.
Woodwind Co. ‘Chester Hazlett’ Tenor, 1930s/40s (RAC reface)- 0.090″ (Archived)
SOLD - From Chadd's Collection - Another rare mouthpiece listed, it was named after the saxophonist in the Whiteman Orchestra of the 30s and 40s. Terrific material and good classic design...very similar to "The Woodwind Co." models... Large chamber makes for a big vintage sound. But also more suitable for Concert Bands and jazz alike. Bob Carpenter just opened this one up to a easy blowing 0.090" with a 21mm facing length and inscribed the his "RAC 90-21" on the table(sign of Bob's heartfelt workmanship again). The crystallized yellow band IS original! sorry, no ligature.
This has a great mellowness to the tone and blows Outstandingly easy! I REALLY wanted to keep this one when I got it back from Bob. It plays so much like my Tonalin 5 (I use on most sound files) that it must be an Alto player's delight at that 0.090" tip. = plays like butter!
Woodwind ‘Sparkle Aire B5*’ Tenor, (RAC reface)- 0.090″ (Archived)
SOLD - Terrific hard rubber material and good classic design. Large chamber makes for a big vintage sound. LATE DESIGN for Woodwind models: this body has similar shank design as Selmer Goldentone models, but the interior scream "Woodwind Co. sound" all the way! Original facing "B5*" marking, arrived original tip at 0.067"...So I asked Bob Carpenter to fix it. It is now a VERY FREE BLOWING 0.090"! Amazing ease of air. Sorry, on ligature currently.
Woodwind ‘Sparkle Aire B5’ Tenor, Rubber, “France” (Archived)
SOLD - vintage hard rubber mouthpiece with good material. "france" on side, It has large round chamber. The original tip is at 0.071" ...we can talk about this getting a reface.
Wagner/Keilwerth ‘Slimline 3’ Tenor, (WWS reface)- 0.080″ (Archived)
SOLD - a really nice hard rubber mouthpiece with the no logo. It arrived at an original small tip 3 @ 0.062". I refaced it to 0.080". These can have a mild warmth, nice focus, but big tone from larger tips. sound is strong in the MID range with a boost in the highest treble, with a slight nasal tone, response is great! It has a small baffle and medium side walls.
Selmer ‘”Soloist C*”‘ Tenor, 1950s Short Scroll Shank, (WWS reface)- 0.076″ (Archived)
SOLD - Hard Rubber mouthpiece, excellent quality hard rubber, horseshoe chamber. It arrived with improper tip size, tip now corrected at 0.070". Good for legit, concert band, or orchestra work, or subtle vintage jazz. I bought this from a friend who loaned it to a student, bless his heart, who boiled it; thus, the vintage coloration. Comes with original Selmer ligature and cap!
Selmer ‘”Soloist C”‘ Tenor, 1950s Short Scroll Shank, (WWS reface)- 0.065″ (Archived)
SOLD - Hard Rubber mouthpiece, excellent quality hard. It arrived original but shy of the correct tip size, also with those 2 little nicks in the tip (before photo), so I perfected the seal, and cleaned the tip to set it up at a proper 0.065" for a "C". Good for legit, concert band, or orchestra work, or subtle vintage jazz. Comes with tooth cushion installed and working ligature.
Selmer ‘”Soloist D”‘ Tenor, 1960s Long Scroll Shank (Archived)
Sold - Hard Rubber mouthpiece, script in good condition! (I'll enhance the table script with Gold color), quality hard rubber, tall-wide horseshoe chamber... Original tip at 0.080". Good focused tone. Very versatile for concert band, or orchestra work, or subtle vintage jazz. I wonder if I can find a lig and metal cap.
