Berg Larsen ‘100-3-M’ Tenor, 2000s Bronze (Gold Series), (RAC) – 0.107″ (Archived)

SOLD - Bob's Collection: Marked [100-3-M], this mouthpiece was enhanced to play better by mouthpiece guru Bob Carpenter. Even some of the great Bergs don't leave the factory playing very well. The "3" baffle does limit the treble (darkest setting), and you'll notice that it still contains the medium-core tone of a Berg. With the original Berg box, ligature and cap.
The description from the Berg Larsen website:
"Produced using the latest casting techniques, bronze is widely used throughout the music industry for its resonate qualities.
These highly polished mouthpieces are particularly resistant to tarnishing and are extremely hardwearing.
The insert is made from grained ebonite. Usually "SLIM" comes with chamber 0 or 1 and "NEW" with chamber 2 or 3. BUT they can be made according to your preferences."***This particular 0.107" Berg listing is the standard "New" width with the #3 chamber. (That means that it is a [cliff] baffle instead of the bullet chamber). Item: BC2W0.0W0.5201.7-BC

Otto Link ‘Super Tone Master – 9*’ Tenor, Florida USA (WWS reface)- 0.123″ (Archived)

SOLD - Ultra rare, side-stamped 9* tenor mouthpiece. It arrived with a 0.120" tip that had crooked rails and a poor tip seal. It also had a custom baffle that we took out. The tip and rails looked original, so I must conclude that it took a tough bump along the way. Otherwise, no other obvious damage to figure out that story. It is currently paired with a 1990s/00s ligature. This era is a great era of mouthpieces and now plays easy after the refacing work. TONE: Huge tone/resonance in the low end, a more medium tone in the middle and high ranges. This era is known for regaining the warmth as the baffle leveled/rounded out. I know you'll want to try this one. WWSL0W3.0W0..3311.7-C60-006

Holton 1930 ‘Rudy Wiedoeft’ Eb Alto, Silver #39k (Archived)

SOLD - A collector's joy and diamond-in-the-rough alto! I am so tempted to keep this one for myself. It has trill keys, unique venting, neck tuning adjustment, and more! The Frank Holton Company operated in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, USA. The "RW" model is one of the more popular. This sax features:
--C1 venting
--G# trill
--Eb trill
--Eb3 trill
--Neck tuning adjuster
FINISH: Original silver plate, in excellent 90%+ condition
SOUND: Sweet, vintage, ... more to come here...
Current pad setup on arrival was a rivet, no reso. The tone was restricted. It plays well enough to hear the sweet tone, but I think that you'd really fall in love with this sax with a fresh WWS Rebuild and pads chosen for your preferences.
***WWS Rebuild included at the listed price.***

Jupiter ‘Capital Edition, Model CES-760’ Eb Alto, #TF50,18x (Archived)

SOLD - Package deal - accessories in the case. I like these as a good "all round" starter sax (one of a few that meet this). Great Ergos, High F# key, silver neck, nice original hard case. Made in Taiwan, #TF50,18x Model CES-760. These models are newer to the market, my guess, since 2005 or so. This one looks like it was used for only 1-4 years.
PADS: in great original condition. I will likely be changing 1 pad, the other 3 potentials show "Medium" wear.
Cosmetic Rating: 9.0 -- Nice
Waiting for PC work

Buescher ‘Whitehall’ Baritone, 1940s (WWS Reface) – 0.102″ (Archived)

SOLD - Custom Reface! + Large chamber! - A vintage hard rubber mouthpiece that is a copy of a vintage Buescher that I would approximate from the 1940s. This one had a large chamber and the original tip (needing some minor seal help) at 0.074" on arrival. Now it measures 0.102". it is an easy blower and has a big sound. It must be a unique blend because you seldom see a large chamber that remains with a high-rollover baffle. Large chamber & high baffle from custom reface. Item: WWSL4.7W6.12151.6-018

Vito 1965 ‘[Vito/Beaugnier, Transitional]’ Bb Tenor, #711A (Archived)

SOLD - Well better than a "starter sax" label, with vintage Vito/Beaugnier bones and strong metal! - Good for kids or someone who understands the quality build in that. The French lineage makes this sax a one of quality. Although the ergonomics are less friendly. It has heavy metal, strong metal, and good intonation. Rumor may have it that Vito was taking the parts from France, to assemble in Kenosha.
Left hand bell keys - (Beaugnier, French)
Standardized keywork - Vito (Kenosha, WI)
Pearl cap on key guards - I've seen on Vito Model 35 & 37(but not all).
G# has the ON/OFF Articulator
Screw adjustable F#-G# arm

TONE: the tone will be more rich than any modern student sax.
Cosmetic Rating: 6.5 wear and tear
At any rate, this will be a quality sax to enjoy!

Selmer 1963 ‘Mark VI’ Bb Tenor, #108k (Archived)

SOLD - #108k, player/collector's delight, ORIGINAL lacquer 85%! Will need a full rebuild to be fully enjoyable, however, I will tune it up so that you can play test it on the old pads. There are signs of past dent work in the bell and bow, one noticeable dent on the front bow guard, evidence of minor pull-down that was repaired well.
SOUND: This sax has a great resemblance in sound to the early 5-digit selmers. NOTE: rumor has it that the great craftsmen of the late 50s were still working on the Mark VIs through about #110xxx. This means that you can have that 5-digit tone in a sax like this and save $1000-4000 off that early-era pricing.
CASE: used protec case(blue) in nice shape.
