Dukoff D8, Nickel-Plated Brass, Tenor:
From Chadd's Collection:
Price: ON TRIAL
- Make: Dukoff
- Model: Nickel-plated brass(Transitional)
- Number: D8
- Era: 1960s?
- Status: SOLD
- Ligature: N/A
- Facing: near Original Tip
- Tip-Size: 0.112"
These are often called the "Transitional" model as they were after the brass era (BD and Stubby) and before the Silverite ("Miami, FL").
The original tip @ 0.112" was touched by another famous mouthpiece refacer. It plays as big and awesome as Sarge's did! (I put them side by side).
Sarge's notes on these ones: "Nickel silver plated brass (prototype to SPC or Dave Guardala), original tip D8, unfooled with--$1200."...as he had one in his collection.
Repairs: The rails has some brass showing so I silver plated the rails to seal them.
