1977 Keilwerth "Tone King" Tenor

***#1) I am biased and love JK saxes and play on a black nickel + gold keys Couf #79k. So filter that... for good and/or bias.

The Tone King is very close to the same keywork used/purchased later by Herbert Couf for the Couf Superba 1 & 2. Such examples are basically a Superba 2 (straight tone holes)at a really great price - but from the original factory!

• It has straight tone holes,
• the "Made in Germany" tube stamp,
• solid sheet guards,
• a metal pants guard,
• and standard/classic pearls(not the larger pearls (like Couf) that we see today on newer JKs).
• Serial number #77k matches on the neck and body.
• NO - high F# on this model.
• There are a few small dings and pings but not much to mention for dent damages.

TONE: Huge Keilwerth tone: warmer, rounder, more spread, full of harmonics. See the Sound Files below.

PADS: It arrived with a mix of mostly older, some original, pads. The originals would have the slight-dome, metal resos and the lighter tan leather look.

CASE: Comes with a medium-soft gigging case, meaning it's a stryofoam molded interior with the squishy black exterior - it isn't a hard edge exterior. This is one of that ideal "gig cases" due to the light weight. Comes with shoulder strap installed. And if you ask me, it much safer for the sax than the "soft" padded ones.
