The "A" in the serial number is a positive note. This means it was assembled in the US Michigan factory; it was a highly regarded place for quality.
CASE: yes - it the original Yamaha hard case in good working order.
PADS: Tan with plastic resos, medium-aged, from three eras of pads. There may be some recommended maintenance to be discussed with the new owner. ESTIMATE: consider repairs 1-3x pads @ $125~, or 3-7x @ $250~.
