HORN'S STORY: Has been Adult-Owned; and was serviced by WWS in 2-2024 with minor maintenance repairs: ($240+tax!): WWS Full Oils repairs (full disassembly, a bath, new oils, minor dent work, and minor pad adjustments, + new neck octave pad, and new case purchased).
An affordable 10M - Yeah Buddy! Don't knock on the 60s era 10M too harshly. It still sounds like a 10M, but the snobs will overlook this horn. Trust me, it's good but obviously is no match against a 10M from 1935-42 ($3000-5500 duh). These are built like tanks, seriously - very STRONG, thick metal. It's great for the 'rough' player or venues.
SOUND: This one has "Conn" tone, and "that 10M tone" but with the '60s reputation. (I'm trying to say that it still sounds like a Conn 10M, but it's not the $3,500+ crisp/resonant-tone that comes from the 1930s/40s... This one is 25+ years later.)
PADS: It has pads that look like 2 eras of replacement(some with metal resos, and some with plastic), but all look to be in the recent 15year mark; newest ones are on the upper end, with 1/2 of the low stack (F#-F-E-D) being a potential future repair. And possibly with middle B2 as a pad to watch; and of course the palm keys may be recommended replacement (in 0.5-2 years) at that time.
CASE: Protec MAX case = lightweight, with backpack straps built in! (was a new case to WWS customer in 2-2024)
ACCESSORIES: Comes with basic Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and a nice Rico neckstrap too!
