SOLD - Rubber, arrived with original tip at 0.043". no ligature, on arrival. Small round chamber.
Other: ‘York’ Soprano, Rubber, Large Chamber (WWS Reface) – 0.056″ (Archived)
SOLD - Large Chamber - Recommended for vintage sopranos! Rubber, arrived with an original tip that was too closed to enjoy. LARGE CHAMBER, and a slight rollover baffle from the reface. The look of the mouthpiece reminds me of some older Buescher 'pickles' with the ring-lip at the shank; but I am not certain on that. The photos are prior to the finished reface and you are free to help guide to with how much baffle you'd like left in there.
Claude Lakey ‘5*’ Soprano, (WWS reface)- 0.073″ (Archived)
SOLD - Rubber, arrived with an original tip at 0.065". I know I can help it play great and improve its response.
INSPECTION REQUIRED (WWS refacing work - level table, clean up the tip seal) no ligature, on arrival.
Martin 1925 ‘Handcraft’ Bb Soprano, Gold Plate #51k (Archived)
SOLD - Serial #51k, Straight Bb soprano in rare gold plate (heavy tarnish but beautiful underneath!). It looks like it will be in excellent condition.
The first inspection says that it is in great shape with denting to the bell (from setting on the sax stands too hard). I will work on the bell lip - the good news is that the metal is thick and strong.
CASE: It arrived without a case, however, we can discuss acquiring a nice one included in the price.
Martin sopranos are some of Sarge's and my favorites! They are well-built in strong metal. Intonation is easy to enjoy and I'll test a few mouthpieces when possible.
Runyon ‘Custom Series #8’ Soprano, Composite – 0.066″
SOLD - A unique Runyon mouthpiece made of a rubber blend. The baffle has a mid-rollover and the chamber shoots into a medium-small round throat. That's geek-talk for: this has a bit of crispness in the projection. I hear that a Rovner 1RXS ligature will fit this mouthpiece.
Cannonball 2009 ‘Big Bell Stone Series – Raven’ Bb Soprano, Curved, Black Nickel #130k (Archived)
SOLD - Who doesn't love the look of black nickel, must less matte black? I will confess that this sax has a tone that lives up to the "big bell" name. There is a nice mid-core resonance that mellows out the tone from other modern textures. It still contains the modern punch with the clarity and the metal resonators help that too - it is definitely 'louder' than a vintage sax.
Comes with TWO Necks, silver one for more clarity and ring, the black matte one for a softer, mellow tone. Sax has high F# & high G keys.
CASE: - Yes. Original hard case in great shape
Cosmetic Rating: 9.9

Yamaha 1970s ‘YSS-61 “Purple Logo”‘ Bb Soprano, #3,8xx (Archived)
SOLD - serial # 3,8xx, original lacquer in good, used, condition. This sax was owned by an adult player and played/loved well. It arrived to WWS with the original factory pads in it. It does play well enough to get a vibe on its tone and ergos - I like it. (This is the older, deeper tone from the "purple logo" era.) It will get a WWS Standard Rebuild included and be a sweet soprano for your collection and enjoyment.
CASE: Original hard case.
Other: ‘No Name’ Soprano, Rubber – 0.057″ (Archived)
SOLD - Played in tune on Buescher TrueTone! Rubber, arrived with an original tip that was too closed to enjoy. LARGE CHAMBER, and a slight rollover baffle from the reface. The look of the mouthpiece reminds me of some older King mpcs; but I am not certain on that.
Now refaced to about 0.057", I am happy to admit that I found this mouthpiece to be a great pair for Buescher True Tone Sopranos! = improved intonation!
