Conn ‘Connstellation #3’ Soprano – 0.055″ (Archived)

here's a hard to find mpc from the late 60s, These were made with facings 1(closed) -- 6(open) but only three sizes for Soprano--2, 3, 4. This with the original tip at 0.055", tip and rails in great shape. there is one minor mark in the table(minor), the table shows the vertical striations. It has a large round chamber, made of a 'new' hard rubber material, plays nice with a centered, mellow tone. The script is in very good condition too. *shank = tight, like old bueschers. so it requires a thin neck cork. Item: WWS0.00.8151.1-0

Buescher ‘Pickle – Emblem’ Soprano, 1920s (RAC Reface) – 0.059″ (Archived)

Hard rubber mpc. Buescher from the 1920s. Bob Carpenter did work on this one in conjunction with myself, and now it's a Tip size @ 0.059 with 18mm facing length. This one did have a sneaky crack up the beak. Bob will glued that back together and I'll discount the mouthpiece. Comes with original silver ligature and cap. SOUND: sweet and warm. Not for cutting and being loud. Item: WWS0.00.1101.4-0-B50C10

Buescher 1927 ‘Tipped-Bell’ Bb Soprano, #204k (Archived)

SOLD - the ultra rate Tipped Bell, in original silver plate. Ser#204k has the pearl G#. It does have a little bend in the bell lip that i will round back out AND gold plate the interior. There is no major damage to mention, only one small ding that I will smooth out too. There is normal wear and tear on the arm tips and edges, and 2-3 zones up the tube that are showing the brass. Also in the original case! Super cool!
The bell lip look bent from the case (drop...sad), but I'll smooth that out more and goldplate a wash in there.

Martin 1935 ‘Handcraft’ Bb Soprano, curved #113k (Archived)

SOLD - Considering the serial number, this is a very very late Handcraft Soprano! One of my favorite sopranos is Martin. These curved ones are super rare! It is keyed to high Eb. The finish may be tricky to say--let's call it a Relacquer with 90% intact. Lacquer was first being used on saxes in this 1934+era. Consider that into the history of the sax. I can not say for certain that this sax was silver or bare brass originally. Perhaps during the rebuild I will be able to see a mark to tell me more history of the sax. It currently does play all the way down to Bb and it has a wamr, curved soprano sound. (See Conn Sound Files). ser #113K dates it to 1935, relacquer finish with mild pitting. NO MAJOR DAMAGE to mention, I don't see anything worth mentioning on that topic. The ring soldered to the thumbrest appears to be an addition after factory build. The body is very clean of dents or past damage. The original case shows wear from 80yrs of age, but some odor spray will help it and I'll take care of that for you.
